Myrna Ann Mixer, 87, of Mendon, Illinois passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, in Blessing Hospital surrounded by her family.

Myrna was born on November 30, 1938, in Quincy, Illinois, daughter of Kenneth and Pauline (Woodruff) Frazier. Myrna married Darrell Mixer on December 20, 1958, at Ursa Christian Church. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2022.

Myrna was a 1956 graduate of Unity High School and attended Culver-Stockton College where she was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority.

Myrna had a love for music and was a gifted pianist and organist. She shared that talent as an organist for Ursa Christian Church from May 1951-January 1, 2017, where she was an active member. She also was a piano and organ teacher for 9 years. Myrna was a 4-H leader for 15 years while her daughters were in 4-H. She was a volunteer EMT for 6 years, Emergency Room volunteer, mentor at Adams School in Quincy, Illinois and Greenfield Elementary in Ursa, Illinois, a member of Adams County Pork Women’s Association. Myrna was employed as an Assistant Director and teacher at Creative Learning Center in Mendon, Illinois, then went on to be a teacher aide for Special Education at Unity High School where she accompanied the High School and Middle School chorus. She then ended her career at Four Star Library in Mendon, Illinois. Her most important job was being a farm wife, mother and grandmother. After retirement, Darrell and Myrna enjoyed going on many trips together.

In addition to music, Myrna enjoyed sewing, reading, baking, and crocheting. She gifted many baby blankets to family.

Myrna is survived by three daughters; Sherry Romack of Norman, Oklahoma, Kolleen (Curt) Nisbet of Mendon, and Amy (Kelly) Stupasky of Quincy, four grandchildren; Courtney (Dan) Clupper, Brian (Gabrielle) Romack, Stephanie (Eann) Diller, and Eric Miller Ill, six great grandchildren; Natalie, Kaylee, Alla, Connor, Hannah and Daphne, a sister Gloria (Larry) Jenkins of Quincy, Illinois, a sister-in-law Dayle Mixer of Blue Springs, Missouri and a special "grand dog" Lulu. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and special friend Paul.

In addition to her parents and husband, Myrna was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Alva and Opal Mixer, a brother Ron Frazier, a brother-in-law Devon Mixer, a son-in-law Michael Romack, a great grandson, Silas Romack.

The family would like to thank Anna and Kathy for home care, along with the nurses and CNAs on the SNU floor at Blessing Hospital for their care. Also, Matt, Sarah, April, Maggie and Jerry from Blessing Hospice. We would also like to extend our appreciation for the kindness, love and support from family and friends.

Memorial services honoring the life of Myrna will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Triplett Funeral Home in Mendon. Rev. Rita Allen will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Quincy Memorial Park in Quincy. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Myrna may be given to Four Star Library Mendon, II, Quincy Area Cat Coalition or Unity High School Music Department.
