Joseph E. Henning, Sr.

Joseph E. Henning, Sr., age 78, of Quincy, Illinois, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022, at 6:23 PM at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.  He was born on December 1, 1944, in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Wilson and Mary Gillenwater Henning.  He married Janice Onderbeke on October 4, 1969, in Rock Island, Illinois.  She preceded him in death December 18, 2020. 

Joe is survived by two sons:  Robert (Shannon) Henning of Garden Grove, CA, and Joseph (Danyelle) Henning, Jr. of Quincy, IL; two sisters:  Vickie (Randy) Allen of Loraine, IL and Wilda (Dave) Agans of Meredosia, IL; five grandchildren:  Robert, Ashlyn, Nicole, Natalie, and Wilson; and two great grandchildren:  Ruth and Eleanor.

Joseph graduated from Illinois School of the Deaf in Jacksonville, IL in 1966.  He worked in electronics and was employed by Quintron and Glenayre.  His hobbies included collecting John Deere memorabilia, Coca Cola items, and model trains.  He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023, between 10:00 and 11:00 AM at Triplett Funeral Homes of Golden. 

Funeral Services will commence at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  The interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Golden Memorial Gardens, Golden, Illinois.

Memorials have been established for Illinois School for the Deaf.
