Freda June Harmon, age 102, of Canton, Missouri, and formerly of Mendon and Quincy, Illinois, passed away on June 29, 2026, at the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton.

She was born on June 9, 1924, in Mendon, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Grace (Grawe) McClelland.

A graduate of Unity High School, she spent many years working as a waitress before operating her own private household cleaning business. She took great pride in her work and was known for her dependability and caring nature.

She had a wonderful eye for beauty and enjoyed shopping, decorating, and interior design. She especially loved flowers and took great pleasure in surrounding herself with beautiful floral arrangements. She lived independently for many years and cherished the simple pleasures of life, family, and friends.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Diane) Harmon of the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; her daughter, Peggy Wiewel of Fowler, Illinois; along with many other cherished family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Barbara Jean "Jeanie" Smith; her son, Larry Harmon; five sisters; one brother.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Private burial will be held at a later date at the Mendon Cemetery in Mendon, Illinois. The care arrangements have been entrusted to J. Otto Funeral Home in Mendon.
